Targeted national digital out-of-home brand campaign

My role

Visual strategy, art direction, design, creative production

I designed a nationwide airport out-of-home campaign for Turo Canada, taking it from concept to launch in a matter of weeks, with record-setting brand results.

With airport rentals being Turo's top business priority at the time, our small but mighty Canada marketing team moved quickly to seize a rare opportunity to appear in every major airport in the country - compressing concepting, testing, and production into only a handful of weeks.

In the years leading up to the launch, I art directed photoshoots across Canada to build a distinctly Canadian lifestyle image library. For this campaign, I developed the visual strategy around that imagery, validated it through audience testing, and designed and produced every placement.

I'm proud to say that the final concept was the best performing ad Turo had ever tested globally at the time. After this campaign launched, brand awareness in Canada increased 5% in a single quarter, the largest single-quarter jump Turo Canada had recorded.

Due to the nature of the project, I built a flexible headline type system that worked seamlessly in both English and French. This allowed quick and easy adaptation to the many digital billboard formats used in airports across the country. The timeline was tight, so creating this system early on streamlined production and removed guesswork from final placement design.
